Blume accepted in Grow AI accelerator
Blume is one of the 13 startups chosen for funding and mentorship in the SocialTides Grow AI accelerator. Funded by Google.org and powered by INCO, this program provides mentorship and funding to social enterprises across Europe.
Our team is very happy. We are thrilled! Why? We are announcing that we have been accepted into the SocialTides Grow AI accelerator. We are extremely proud to be one of only 13 startups selected from nearly 500 applicants across Sweden, Italy, the UK, Spain, Ukraine, Poland, Czechia, Romania, and Lithuania. This opportunity provides us with invaluable mentorship and funding to further our mission of eliminating pedestrian accidents.
What is Grow AI?
Grow AI is a 6-month equity-free acceleration program part of the SocialTIdes initiative designed for social enterprises and impact organizations that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to pursue a positive impact. It offers startups tools, technical knowledge, mentoring and funding to help foster growth and achieve high societal impact based on the UN SDGs.

The problem we’re eliminating
Blume's mission is to eliminate pedestrian accidents at crossings using advanced computer vision and AI. In Romania, around 350 pedestrians die at crossings each year, causing a total economic loss of 350 million EUR and immense emotional suffering. Our solution enhances safety by detecting pedestrians and using dynamic warning LEDs to draw drivers' attention to the crossing pedestrian. By leveraging our innovative technology, Blume aims to reduce both the emotional and economic impacts of these tragedies, making our streets safer for everyone. Apart from the safety perspective, our system collects relevant traffic data and provides road administrators with relevant, real-time insights.
